Merchandising Manager, Americas

Overview

Observint Technologies, a leading manufacturer and retailer of surveillance technologies, is looking for a Merchandising Manager, responsible for product positioning, pricing strategy, and the day to day merchandising activities for direct distribution companies Supercircuits and Security Cameras Direct. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to collaborate with cross-functional partners, proficient in developing customer-facing content, highly analytical, data driven and results oriented.

The Merchandising Manager will work closely with our product management, sales and marketing teams, and report directly to the company’s CMO. Success in this role will be measured by increased consideration and conversion generated by on- and off-line marketing vehicles, and revenue growth of strategic product lines across targeted customer segments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead content development efforts for all new and existing products, working directly with our in-house product management team and other marketing resources.
  • Develop engaging product content, including copy writing, to effectively position our products across targeted customer segments.
  • Identify opportunities to produce multi-media content (stills, video, infographics, or other content) that will enhance ability to educate customers, and work with functional teams to develop & leverage across all relevant marketing vehicles.
  • Manage competitive analysis, product positioning and pricing strategies for each of our various customer segments, and oversee the execution across all online and offline marketing vehicles.
  • Develop and track segment-specific pricing and/or promotional campaigns to drive increased consideration and demand.
  • Partner with Print Manager to improve catalog response rates and print vehicle effectiveness across targeted segments.
  • Contribute to all online marketing activities, including but not limited to: organic search (SEO), paid search (PPC), email campaigns.
  • Partner with SEM Strategist to develop online pathing, upsell & cross-sell strategies that maximize conversion, average order value, and overall customer experience.
  • Understand the unique go-to-market models for our direct (transactional) and dealer (relationship) channels – and sensitivities between them, to maintain a balance of company/program/product positioning and pricing strategies to support each.
  • Work with cross-functional partners on marketing, sales, product, procurement, and technical support teams to identify opportunities to more effectively merchandise our company/programs/products in support of their objectives.
  • Establish key performance metrics, maintain regular measurement & reporting disciplines, and effectively communicate results, analysis, recommendations and actions to key stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in product merchandising for a B2B or B2C products company
  • Strong understanding of marketing, e-commerce, and online sales generation
  • Experience in product positioning, content development, and copy writing
  • Experience in product pricing strategy and competitive analysis
  • Proven self-management skills, with the ability to set clear priorities and success metrics, and drive projects to completion
  • Strong command and effective communication skills, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams
  • Data driven, with experience in multi-variant analytical analysis & reporting
  • Extremely detail oriented, with the ability to stay focused on the “big picture”

Technical Support Specialist

Overview

This position supports Supercircuits’ customers with the installation, initial configuration, set up and troubleshooting of security monitoring systems. This role provides support over the phone and through email or chat, but requires no travel to customer locations. This role is part of a larger technical support team and requires strong technical skills as defined below.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound calls, emails, and chats from customers and support the following types of questions or issues:
    • Installation
    • Configuration/initial set up
    • General use & maintenance
    • Troubleshooting & failure diagnosis
    • Set up returns for equipment failures reasons
  • Document all customer interactions and the issue resolution process
  • Assist with enterprise IT needs
  • Test and diagnose product returned by customers
  • Execution of duties requires interface with a variety of computer applications and enterprise level telephony equipment

Job Requirements

  • Solid understanding of electronics and electrical components (prefer A+ certified)
  • Solid understanding of computer networking and network troubleshooting (prefer Network+, CCNP, or CCNA certified)
  • Experienced in the use of Windows based operating systems and business class applications
  • Ability to work individually with limited supervision as well as part of a team
  • Excellent oral communications skills with emphasis on positive customer interface during problem resolutions
  • Eager to learn video surveillance and networking equipment technology
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Previous call center experience a plus
  • Fluent Spanish and English, both spoken and written is preferred

Inside Sales Representative

Overview

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for selling our products & services through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas. The Inside Sales Representative will reach business targets through excellent telephone sales and communications skills. This individual will also develop his or her phone-based revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, consultative sales approach and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Establishing rapport with clients
  • Asking questions to uncover clients' needs
  • Selling technology solutions that lead to long-term customer relationships
  • Closing deals/Sense of urgency
  • Delighting customers with world class 'after the sale' support
  • Multi-tasking in a team oriented environment
  • Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail cross-sell and up-sell
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports

Job Requirements

  • University or college degree in Business, Marketing, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • 2 to 3 years of direct work experience in a sales or telesales capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers
  • Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures

Compensation & Benefits

The targeted annual compensation for this position is commensurate with your experience. The compensation package has both base + commission elements (60/40 split – 60% base, 40% target commission), with no cap on commission so your compensation is limited only by your ability to sell.
